The Capital District Youth Pipe Band has three main goals:
- Offer bagpipe lessons and drum lessons in a comfortable, youth-centered environment.
- Provide leadership opportunities for teenagers.
- Compete in the United States, Canada and Scotland as a Juvenile Pipe Band.
Professional instructors, coupled with outstanding camaraderie and team attitude, makes the Capital District Youth Pipe Band a singular organization — it is currently the only competing Juvenile Pipe Band in the Northeastern United States.
