SUMMARY:Tony McManus\, Celtic guitarist
DESCRIPTION:Hailed by John Renbourn as ‘the best Celtic guitarist in the world\,’ Tony McManus has also been listed as one of the 50 transcendental guitarists of all time by Guitar Player Magazine. Tony has both extended and transcended the parameters of contemporary Celtic music. Ranked by peers and predecessors alike alongside the guitar world’s all-time greats\, his fiendishly dexterous\, dazzlingly original playing draws on traditions from the entire Celtic world. Long applauded for his uncanny ability to transpose the delicate\, complex ornamentation characteristic of traditional bagpipe or fiddle tunes – even the phrasing of a Gaelic song – onto his own six strings\, McManus is being increasingly acknowledged as a pioneering figure in bridging the realms of Celtic music and other guitar genres. \n\n\n\nHe has performed with the likes of Alasdair Fraser\, Kevin Burke\, and Natalie McMaster\, among others. at major Celtic festivals such as Celtic Connections. Tony represents Celtic music in the guitar world\, performing with Tommy Emmanuel\, Bruce Molsky\, and Beppe Gambetta\, making appearances at guitar specific festivals such as the Chet Atkins Festival in Nashville; the Ellnora Guitar Festival in the Krannert Center in front of thousands\, with the likes of Pat Metheny\, Kaki King\, Molly Tuttle\, and Steve Dawson; and he has appeared at Guitar festivals in Italy\, Australia\, France\, Scotland\, England\, and in Germany. He played at the famous Ryman Auditorium in Nashville in the “All Star Guitar Night” with Béla Fleck and more\, headlined by the legendary Les Paul. \n\n\n\nHis ability to reach audiences unfamiliar with traditional music is amazing\, even reaching into classical events such as the Dundee and Derry Guitar festivals\, appearing six times between the two! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nhttps://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/tony-mcmanus-celtic-guitarist

SUMMARY:Cantrip: Pure Celtic Mischief and Musical Magic
DESCRIPTION:Get ready for a night of world-class musicianship! On March 18\, Cantrip takes the stage at Celtic Hall to redefine what you think is possible with traditional music. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe name “Cantrip” is an Old Scots word for a magic spell or a piece of mischief—and that is exactly what this power trio delivers. With the driving rhythm of border pipes\, the soaring energy of the fiddle\, and intricate guitar work\, they create a sound that is both deeply rooted in the past and excitingly modern. \n\n\n\nExpect a high-energy performance where Celtic tradition meets infectious grooves\, creating a musical experience you won’t want to leave. Dan Houghton\, Jon Bews\, and Eric McDonald are masters of their craft\, ready to cast a spell on the audience. \n\n\n\nCome for the tunes\, stay for the craic! \n\n\n\n<iframe width="100%" height="166" scrolling="no" frameborder="no" allow="autoplay" src="https://w.soundcloud.com/player/?url=https%3A//api.soundcloud.com/tracks/soundcloud%253Atracks%253A489840654&color=%23ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true"></iframe><div style="font-size: 10px; color: #cccccc;line-break: anywhere;word-break: normal;overflow: hidden;white-space: nowrap;text-overflow: ellipsis; font-family: Interstate\,Lucida Grande\,Lucida Sans Unicode\,Lucida Sans\,Garuda\,Verdana\,Tahoma\,sans-serif;font-weight: 100;"><a href="https://soundcloud.com/cantripband" title="Cantrip" target="_blank" style="color: #cccccc; text-decoration: none;">Cantrip</a> · <a href="https://soundcloud.com/cantripband/the-cantrip" title="The Cantrip" target="_blank" style="color: #cccccc; text-decoration: none;">The Cantrip</a></div>
