Celtic Hall Workshop: Piping For Next Year

Are you tired of getting the same results from piping competition — whether it is individual contests or band contests?

Let us help you to prepare yourself and your band — while there is time to make changes that will make a difference! Individual tickets are only $15 per person! At that price, you can bring the whole band!

kenellerJoin Ken Eller, an adjudicator at the World Championships in Glasgow annually since 2006, for a pipers workshop on Nov. 4, 2017, at Celtic Hall that will focus on:

  • Playing your best (individually or with your band);
  • Techniques and exercises to prepare for next year;
  • Leading in your pipe band;
  • Tuning for your pipe band;
  • Solo competition checklist.

Ken has had a more-than-50-year piping career, with 15 wins at the North American Pipe Band Championships with both the 78th Fraser Highlanders and as Pipe Major of the Clan MacFarlane Pipe Band.

Now retired from active competition, he teaches online at www.thecaptainscorner.com.

The program is working out this way:

  • Mechanics
  • Maintenance
  • Pipe band leadership (Not Just Officers!)

Saturday Afternoon: PLAY

Teaching with him are:

Robbie Beaton: Scotia native, professional bagpiper, 11-year member and Pipe Sergeant of the world-renowned Grade 1 78th Fraser Highlanders Pipe Band of Toronto, Canada.

Graham Thompson: Professional bagpiper, three-year member of the Grade 1 78th Fraser Highlanders Pipe Band, competed at the World Pipe Band Championships in the Grade 1 circle six times.

Cost is $15 per person — very affordable — so low that you can bring your entire band to the workshop!

The event will be held at Celtic Hall, 430 New Karner Road, Colonie, on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, from 9:30 until about 4.

See you there!
